Congenital Talipes Equinovarus
Clubfoot Physiotherapy
Clubfoot, also known as congenital talipes equinovarus, is a condition present at birth in which one or both feet turn inward and downward. At Physionyx Physiotherapy & Rehab, physiotherapy support is planned according to the child’s age, foot flexibility, developmental stage, orthopaedic treatment, and functional needs.
Treatment may include gentle mobility exercises, stretching, muscle-strengthening activities, developmental movement training, balance and standing practice, walking support, and guidance for parents regarding home exercises and brace use. Physiotherapy aims to support foot movement, muscle balance, posture, walking ability, and participation in age-appropriate activities.
Clubfoot requires assessment and management by a qualified paediatric orthopaedic specialist. Physiotherapy at Physionyx is designed to complement—not replace—orthopaedic care, casting, bracing, or other treatment prescribed by the child’s medical team. Early professional assessment is recommended to create a safe and individualised rehabilitation plan.
